Welcome to motherhood!

I have been so lucky to be able to sleep in until 8:30 every morning with the girls sleeping 12 hours a night, but this morning we were up at 6:00 with two very cranky girls. I could tell Mikayla didn't feel well and was running a temp and with each passing hour she was getting warmer and more hysterical. I finally persuaded Zach to come home early and watch Kaitlyn so I could take Mikayla to the doctors. He decided he would drop me off and take Kaitlyn to work instead.

I walked into the clinic and Mikayla lost it, she was screaming at the top of her lungs and I was ready to find a corner and cry when all of a sudden she puked all over me! If that wasn't bad enough every one was just staring including the nurses and there was no bathroom in sight so I looked at one of the nurses and sort of shouted "can someone help me??" So of course they rushed me to the bathroom while Mikayla continued screaming and along the way succeeded in puking all over the both of us three more times. That had to be one of the worst experiences, I had no idea how to get the mess cleaned up since we didn't have any extra set of clothes and really nothing could be done but to strip her down and for me to sit there smelly and wet for the rest of her appointment. I was so grateful for this one nurse who stayed with me in the bathroom, she helped clean us up and also helped me keep a level head! When we were finished she looked at me and said " Welcome to motherhood" hahaha I thought I had seen it all but I was definitely wrong.

Wow! I am happy to say (knock on wood) that I've never experienced that (in public). Good for you for keeping a level head! I hope she feels better soon!!

LOL, I love that she said "welcome to motherhood" I think that sums up the whole experience. Still, I bet that was one of the least glamarous moments in your life :)
