The girls HATE getting there picture taken, they refuse to look at the camera because of the flash so I thought I would take them out to the park last night and try there. I wanted the pictures to look somewhat winterish so I put there heavy coats on even though it was still 70 degrees when the sun went down. Poor girls, at least they had fun!

Lemon challenge
So late last night Zach and I were unable to sleep and somehow started talking about lemons. Somewhere in that conversation Zach stated that there was no way I could eat a whole lemon without throwing up (sorry too much info). There was no way I was going to back down from that, I mean come on, lemons are small right? So I decided we should bet on it and he decides I should do it for a dollar, are you kidding me? That wasn't good enough so I said if I could eat one he would have to eat two. Today I let him pick out the lemons and not knowing at the time he picked out three of the biggest lemons not thinking he would have to eat any hahaha boy was he wrong. We decided to video tape this totally awesome challenge so no one can ever say I didn't do it.
I cut my lemon up into five pieces, after eating the first one I was already gagging. Who knew lemons would do that? After reaching the third one I was shaking and just trying to control the gagging reflex. There was no way I was going to stop and not let Zach experience the pain. By the time I reached the last one Zach was freaking out knowing I was about to conquer the lemon. Surprise I actually finished it!! I just have to say I felt really bad for this baby and I will NEVER do that again. The absolute best part was watching Zach choke down his two hahaha! I have to say, Zach might rethink the next time he challenges me, I'm not one to give up!

Poor Mikayla
So Zach and I have this system down where we take turns sleeping in every other day. Today was my morning to sleep in, which means that Zach normally takes them to the park or the gym. This morning he took them to the gym and came home early because Mikayla got injured. I guess as they were leaving Mikayla and Kaitlyn were playing on the treadmill and some how Mikayla got her fingers stuck underneath the treadmill. I took her to the doctor to make sure they weren't broken and thank goodness they aren't but she did sprain two of the joints. She has been a very unhappy little girl today. I hate it when they get hurt!!! Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

I'm back
So it has been forever since I have got on my blog. Being pregnant again and chasing after the girls just wears me out. Unfortunately, I had to take an extension to finish up my schooling but I'm hoping to have it finished before the baby comes! One good thing that has happened recently is Zach was given a special duty for the next three years working quality assurance on base. He has been home a lot more and helps out so much!! I'm extremely grateful for such a blessing.
Enough about Zach and I, the girls have been growing and changing everyday. It is so exciting watching them learn how to talk and understand what is going on around them. Watching them around the Christmas lights has been a blast, anytime we take a walk at night both girls will stop and stare at the lights for what seems like hours. I always get embarrassed when the people who live their open the curtains and give us this weird look like "why are you in front of my home?" The funniest part about that is Kaitlyn is screaming "wow wee" over and over again, I'm almost certain that is why these people are catching us. Anyway, that is what is going on right now and I promise (mom) I will try and get on here more. :)

Grocery store nightmare
Taking the girls to the grocery store drives me nuts! I'm sure it will get worse when they are a little older and can ask for everything, but right now it sucks. The moment we walk in they both start howling because they want to walk around. I always look forward to Zach coming along so if they get too out of hand he just takes them back to the car. Well yesterday we only stopped for a few items and the girls started throwing a tantrum. Zach grabbed them and put them in a new cart while I was standing in line to check out. All of a sudden all these people started gasping and pointing, I look over and see Kaitlyn laying on her back screaming her head off and who would of guessed, the crazy kid jumped out of the cart!!! From now on they will not be riding in the basket! She wasn't injured thank goodness, but I'm hoping it scared her enough not to attempt something like that again.

Welcome to motherhood!
I have been so lucky to be able to sleep in until 8:30 every morning with the girls sleeping 12 hours a night, but this morning we were up at 6:00 with two very cranky girls. I could tell Mikayla didn't feel well and was running a temp and with each passing hour she was getting warmer and more hysterical. I finally persuaded Zach to come home early and watch Kaitlyn so I could take Mikayla to the doctors. He decided he would drop me off and take Kaitlyn to work instead.
I walked into the clinic and Mikayla lost it, she was screaming at the top of her lungs and I was ready to find a corner and cry when all of a sudden she puked all over me! If that wasn't bad enough every one was just staring including the nurses and there was no bathroom in sight so I looked at one of the nurses and sort of shouted "can someone help me??" So of course they rushed me to the bathroom while Mikayla continued screaming and along the way succeeded in puking all over the both of us three more times. That had to be one of the worst experiences, I had no idea how to get the mess cleaned up since we didn't have any extra set of clothes and really nothing could be done but to strip her down and for me to sit there smelly and wet for the rest of her appointment. I was so grateful for this one nurse who stayed with me in the bathroom, she helped clean us up and also helped me keep a level head! When we were finished she looked at me and said " Welcome to motherhood" hahaha I thought I had seen it all but I was definitely wrong.

stupid park!
We have a park down the street that we take the girls to a couple times a week. Normally it is a nice chance to let the girls burn off some energy and hang out with other kids but yesterday it was a disaster. Mikayla was playing in some dirt or so we thought until she started screaming hysterically, by the time Zach got to her she was covered in fire ants and he had to strip her down to get them all off. The poor baby has over 30 bite marks on her hand alone!! She eventually calmed down and we decided to stay but not long after Kaitlyn was catapulted off the bridge by another child and she landed face first into the ground. I hate it when my kids get hurt and after that I had had enough. I thought parks were supposed to be safe but I guess next time I will be even more cautious than I already am.

Lost Child
This morning I left the girls in the living room while I went to find them some clothes to wear for the day, when I came back a few minutes later I couldn't find Mikayla. I could hear her talking occasionally but it sounded like she was outside or stuck in a bedroom. Knowing that all the doors were shut and there was no way she could get outside. I was confused, so as a joke I asked Kaitlyn where her sister was (as if she could talk back and tell me) but to my surprise she ran and opened a cupboard and there sat Mikayla hugging a bottle of vegetable oil. I'm glad they keep close tabs on each other because I'm not sure if I would have searched in there for her!

Labor day weekend
This weekend went by way too fast I hate to see Zach go back to work! Saturday we took the girls to the children's museum in Columbia, it was a lot of fun but insane to keep up with the two of them. I hardly saw Zach because the girls were running in opposite directions! :) Sunday we took the girls to the pool and tried cleaning out our spare bedroom for Kemela. We still have a lot to move out of there but it should be done by the end of this month when she shows up. Labor day we spent the day at the beach with Curtis, Emily and Tommy I can't believe I have family living here now!! The beach was insane due to the hurricanes hitting around us, the high tide was a little too dangerous for the kids so we mostly spent the day playing in the sand. This weekend they will be coming up here to visit for my birthday I'm excited to get a chance to get to know Tommy, ever since he was born I have been living in a different state. Anyhow the pictures I'm posting are from Saturday at the museum.

Halloween costumes
I am so excited that Halloween will be here in a couple of months, so excited that I already bought the girls their costumes. I found some super cute bug outfits. Kaitlyn is going to be a ladybug and Mikayla is going to be a bumble bee! The only bad part is when I unwrapped the ladybug costume it smells like dead fish!!!! I'm not sure how I'm going to get rid of the smell it is hand wash only and satin, I'm afraid of ruining it. One way or another they will look adorable even if Kaitlyn has to go around smelling like a fish hahaha.

Busy Weekend
We had such a busy weekend I'm still trying to catch up on sleep. Saturday we took the girls to the pool on base, it was cloudy and colder than normal. For some reason I don't think the baby pool is heated, normally it feels good when it's hot out but the girls were not having it on Saturday, I don't blame them I didn't even want to go in. It wasn't very hard to convince Zach that his plans had failed because Kaitlyn ended up pooping and we didn't have an extra swimmer diaper. Lets just say I was glad he was the one who packed the diaper bag that day, I was ready to go before we even got there.
Saturday night we took the girls to my friend Lindsey's house, her little boy Devin was celebrating his second birthday. The girls were having fun until about an hour after we got there and then they started crying about everything. I was about to lose my mind until she brought out the cupcakes and that of course made them happy again.
Sunday we spent the whole day near Charleston. My brother Curtis and his family are planning on moving to South Carolina next month and we went to look at house they are wanting to rent. The place was only five minutes from a beach called Isle of the palms. It was beautiful there, we took the girls to the beach and let them run around for a couple hours. The more we take them to the beach the more brave they get, I can't look away from them for a second! Both girls decided they were going to be explores so every five minutes I was pulling one of them away from someone else's beach bag. hahaha little stinkers. We had fun though.

jumped the gun on that one
I took Mikayla to the doctors yesterday because she refused to walk after her shots. I was worried so they asked me to bring her in. The moment the Dr. walked in Mikayla freaked out, as she was throwing this fit he had me set her down beside him and walk away. Mikayla instantly jumped up and ran to me. I was so embarrassed, I felt like the doctor was thinking I had lost my mind. He told me that I didn't need to worry he believed me when I said she wasn't walking before, well thanks doc! why else would I come in and waste our time? LAME!

I can run!
After my car accident in 2004 I was told I may never be able to run again, I had fractured my pelvis in two places and also cracked my sacrum. A couple years went by and I could barely walk around to buy groceries, the thought of never being able to run again had me pretty depressed. I never liked to run in the first place but since it was something I couldn't physically do I wanted to even more. I went to see specialist after specialist who couldn't fix the problem. I honestly believe having children is what has made the difference. I can actually run again and it feels amazing. I was telling Zach last night on our evening run that the burn you feel when your body is aching everywhere feels incredible to me. It's made me appreciate the little things my body can do, I took it for granted before I knew what it was like to not have the ability. I'm just so excited that this week has been the first time since my accident I have felt almost whole again.

Good news
The deployment list was finally posted today and as of right now Zach's name is not on it!! It is the first time I have felt like he really has a chance of not deploying to Iraq next month. I'm excited for Zach to have the chance to continue bonding with our girls, they are so cute together.

Shark attack
The girls have been growing like weeds so naturally their footsie pajamas have gotten too small. I asked my mom to keep a look out for some more light weight footsie pajamas in a bigger size, and surprise, a week later they were sent to the girls in a package (Such a nice Grandma). Anyway the pajamas are adorable but one in particular caught my attention, It's green and has sharks all over it. For some reason Kaitlyn always ends up wearing the green shark jammies and the same day she wore them she started biting Mikayla. Maybe it's just me but I swear the PJ's are not a good influence on her because she hasn't stopped biting since the day we received those shark pajamas. They need to come with a warning label!!! hahaha!!! Kidding, well kind of, Kaitlyn is no longer allowed to wear the shark pajamas because I can't stop myself from thinking she is always up to no good!
